Wow I can’t believe it… My prediction was right! [See my August 18 post]. Sterling Knight will be in a movie called “Transit”. This picture was taken and posted by Diora Baird’s twitter today, which is ALMOST the same picture Sterling posted on his! This is what I gathered so far… “Transit”is a thriller about suburban family en route to a camping trip. At a rest stop, a group of bank robbers hide a cache of money in the family’s SUV, triggering the hunter-and-hunted premise for the movie. Jim Caviezel and Elisabeth Rohm will play dad and mom, and (I think) Sterling Knight will play one of their kids. Diora Baird, Harold Perrineau and James Frain will play bad guys. Shooting has started in Baton Rouge since last week! This does not appear to be a big studio movie though. Not sure it will be released nationwide or if it will go directly to DVD. We will have to see. But whatever it is, I can’t wait to see Sterling in his new project!

Just A Thought

Sonny Munroe would have called last week drama created by Sterling’s (crazy) twitter fangirl SterlingFans/jcee07… “A BAD EPISODE OF MACKENZIE FALLS!!!”

I doubt Sterling even knows (or cares) what went on. The drama was very much one sided! Well… Glad that’s over… or is it?!?! :D

*Asterisk

Forgot to mention there are partial previews of SWAC’s new episode “That’s So Sonny” hidden in the video I put up on my previous post. Check it out! :)

I love this man. We have at least 3 things in common… The Lakers, Kobe, and John Mayer! I’m a die hard Laker’s fan and a blind defender of Kobe since his rookie year :] Haven’t seen Sterling at any of the Laker’s games I’ve been to, but I sure hope to run into him at John Mayer’s concert at the Hollywood Bowl this Sunday!! I’ve got (almost) front row tix!!! But wait… Sterling is in Baton Rouge… :(

Well, Mr. Mayer, you’d better make up for it… :)

John Mayer is my man-crush…

Prediction for Sterling Knight’s Next Gig!

My boyfriend and I go out and see movies regularly and since I’ve been (healthily) obsessed with Sterling, I’ve looked at various male characters in those movies and many times thought to myself ‘Sterling could have played those roles!’

Too bad we haven’t seen him on the big screen since his role as sweet and coming-of-age Alex O’Donnell in 17 Again, and I’m sure a lot of us are anxious to see what is on the horizon for our talented Sterling Knight!

Since I have no connection to people in ‘the industry’, all I can do is ‘guessing’ what his next gig is. Based on my honing google skill, Sterling is currently shooting some sort of movie in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. There are two independent movies filming there this week. One is Trespass starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman, and the other is Transit staring Jim Caviezel.

My gut tells me he has a part in Transit film because Sterling recently tweeted he is currently in Baton Rouge and basically shot a scene in a car all day yesterday. This is consistent with the plot of Transit which goes like this… “A family on a road trip through the desert is stalked by criminals who stashed stolen money in their car”. Local news also indicated they have to close some streets this week for the film!

As far as I know I could be completely off base here… and wow I just realized I put way too much thought in to this!! Haha but hey what can I do… We only get to see him in new SWAC episodes which only come out once a month these days… I just miss him!

Monday Night Monologue

Not that it is a big surprise, but I still can’t help but feel a bit disappointed by the fact that neither Sterling Knight nor Demi Lovato nor SWAC got the recognition they deserved at the Teen Choice Awards yesterday.

I watch all the shows nominated under “TV Show: Comedy” category, and yes… all of them are fabulous shows with talented casts. But… if I measure each show based on the amount of laughter and numbers of burst I have had, SWAC without a doubt is a winner in COMEDY category!!

Too bad not enough people see what you and I see. I believe if they give SWAC a chance (or a second chance), they will fall for it as much as we do. Called it a ‘Disney Show’ or ‘Tween Show’ or whatever you like, but SWAC is a clever comedy that reaches out to TV watchers of all ages. Each episode has so many funny lines and dialogues that are so silly and smart. I think I memorize most if not all of them. They are funny and classic, carried out by a crafty bunch of young (and adorable) talents!

Well… it’s okay. Sterling Knight and SWAC are the winners on my list! Overall, it was a pretty good weekend I had. The beach was awesome and the new SWAC epi on Sunday night made it a perfect ending! :)

You have to check this out !! I had to watch so many horrendous homemade YouTube videos before finding this uber cute animated version of Sterling Knight’s song “Starstruck”. Amateur but cutesy :) A round of applause to the creator matheusvieira234!

Sterling Knight… An Old Soul

Ali Martell, a career woman, a mother of three and a regular blogger for urbanmoms.ca, had a chance to speak to Sterling Knight in May of 2010. I found her summary of her 20-minute interview with Sterling to be so lovely and insightful. It’s always nice to learn a bit more about Sterling, and so far I like what I have seen and heard :) Here are some excerpts from her article I think you’d enjoy:

“Sterling Knight is so much more of an old soul than I expected him to be. He plays a teenager on TV, but he most definitely does not fit the mold of bubble-gum sensation I was expecting. I think it’s the hair. I kind of expect everyone with Bieber-hair to listen to Ke$ha and use phrases like Oh. Em. Gee.”

“Sterling is a self-proclaimed bad twitter-er, if that’s even a word. He says that he can’t get into the whole self-validation aspect of the twitter game, and just laughs when he see friends, both celebrity and non-celebs, comparing how many followers they have on twitter.”

“Some of his answers really surprised me. He most definitely does not listen to Ke$ha and opts for more eclectic music and lately has been listening to a lot of oldies… He was talking about Temptations, the Beatles, Smokey Robinson, the Monkees. The real deal. We both discussed that it would be a travesty for the younger generations to start thinking of 80s music, or punk, or 70s metal bands as oldies.

When I asked him to tell me something most people wouldn’t know about him, he hesitated for a minute, and then revealed that he’s a little bit of a nerd. I pressed him on this, because, it seems that’s what all actors want you to believe. But then he admitted to watching tremendous amounts of The History Channel and having a huge collection of non-fiction books about the Korean War and World War II… I asked if he was watching The Pacific on HBO and we both discussed how awesome the mini-series is and how historically accurate the show seems to be. He actually auditioned to be on it, but apparently, he looks too young.”

His useless talent doesn’t do him any good but it does make me laugh again and again and again!!!

I did… and he was delicious!! :D

ONE NEW SWAC FAN AT A TIME!

I was at my friend’s house two weeks ago and told her about my (healthy) obsession with Sterling and SWAC. She had never seen the show before so I grabbed the remote and took a liberty to record a few SWAC episodes on her TIVO. They were Falling For the Falls Part I & II, of course :)

Apparently she watched them last night and so today she texted me saying “Yeah, seems like what you taped were best ones cuz they hooked up. I taped couple other old episodes too, heh. It is juvenile but even JJ (her boyfriend) was saying, right up my alley cuz I like cheesy shows.”

Cheesy or not… it seems SWAC has gained one more fan :) Welcome new recruit!

WARNINGS: LOOKING AT THESE PHOTOS COULD SEVERELY DAMAGE YOUR HEART!

Well…For those who dare to look… It appears our beloved Sterling Knight is constantly surrounded by gorgeous butterflies! I mean who could blame these gals?! I would probably jump on him myself if I have a chance :D

Anyway… Whomever Sterling ends up with shall be one lucky girl. I just hope she is as sweet as he is :)

Sterling Knight has a really interesting screen presence. He has the most innocent looking face, which is so deceiving because he has a very dry sense of humor. And Michelle Trachtenberg is very, very funny and just a total pro. So we were lucky to have such a great young cast.
Burr Steers (17 Again’s director)
As you all know, Sterling Knight made his major feature film debut as Zac Efron’s son—Alex O’Donnell—in 17 Again which was released and well received last year (2009). Sterling described Alex as “Hopeless… He has no idea of how to dress or how to talk to girls and gets picked on everyday.”
When asked how it was to play a guy who’s actually kind of geeky and nerdy, Sterling replied “It’s easy because I was kind of going through that process when I booked the film. I was kind of breaking out of my shell and growing up. I was coming out of that awkward phase that everybody goes through. The timing was kind of perfect for it. I think everybody can relate to being bullied and picked on and whatnot.”
I think a lot of us could relate to that growing pain feeling. When I saw the movie for the first time, I didn’t even know who Sterling was but he was definitely right for the part. He was likable, and I found myself rooting for him to blossom in the movie… and he did! He was funny and cute. I guess Sterling can’t do anything without being cute… Stupid cute!! ;)
